My opinion

I've been excited about the rope for years! Very good quality, brilliant idea to integrate the soft shackles, extremely versatile. With the exception of tree straps, I have retired all rescue straps since this rope was used. The rope only takes up about 1/3 of the space and 1/4 of the weight of a comparable recovery harness.
In my opinion, this rope belongs in every rescue set as basic equipment.

I therefore commissioned the custom-made product with a length of 10 m to make another function possible: when cut in half, it can also be used as a tow rope in the area of road traffic regulations.

The distance between towing and towed vehicles in road traffic must not be greater than 5 m. We tie a safety vest to it as a mark in the middle. ;)

We use it except for recovery/towing in 10 meters length:

  • used twice with an additional loose soft shackle in order to be able to recover/tow with a length of 5 meters, as 10 m is often too long in forest passages or serpentines (note: this only works with rigid Dyneema ropes. Never use kinetic ropes twice!)
  • for lateral securing in case of danger of slipping/tipping over
  • for extending kinetic ropes/belts with a breaking load of less than 12 t
  • to build an anchor point for winching
  • as a winch rope extension
  • for load distribution on two lifting eyes
  • With a pulley, soft shackle and tree strap, recovery/pulling is also possible “around corners”.
  • Towing in the area of the StVO (an additional red flag or similar in the middle is required, as written above, we use a high-visibility vest)

Another advantage: it doesn't soak up water and mud like the straps, but rather floats.

Rigid recovery harnesses/recovery ropes

A recovery strap or recovery rope can be used to extend a winch extension strap that is too short or to recover a vehicle that is stuck off-road. If it is foreseeable that the vehicle could get stuck when driving through water or mud, it makes sense to attach a rescue rope/belt to the rescue eye of the vehicle beforehand so that in the event of an emergency, a rope or a rope is not left in or under water Having to attach a belt. Ideally, the rope/belt can then be thrown to the rescue partner without leaving the vehicle. When using a rigid recovery belt/rope, jerky loads must be avoided at all costs in order to avoid damage to the vehicles or the rope/belt. Particularly on normal road vehicles, the towing eyes are not designed for jerky loads and can tear out or deform the frame.
If a vehicle cannot be towed free with a normal recovery rope/belt, a kinetic belt or a kinetic rope may be possible be used for recovery. Attention: Do not attach kinetic ropes or straps to standard towing eyes!

To attach the recovery straps and ropes with eyes, additional shackles or soft shackles are required to attach them to the vehicle, except for the Liros Offroad Performance thanks to the firmly spliced soft shackles.
