Maxtrax MK II sand boards - 3rd place - Test 4x4action - Issue 5-2020

Sand boards for self-recovery of the vehicle if there is no winch, no anchor point for the winch or no second vehicle. Can be used in sand, mud, snow. If you're traveling off-road with just one vehicle, high-quality sandboards are mandatory equipment in my opinion.

My opinion

Whether Maxtrax MK II or TRED Pro are better is probably a question of faith. Why I chose TRED Pro many years ago was the fact that TRED Pro also stated a load capacity of 4.5 t and a possible temperature range of -15°C to 70°C. I didn't find any clear information about this from Maxtrax. One advantage of the MK II is that a pair is approximately 1.4 kg lighter. And there are more colors to choose from...

! Note on shipping sand boards

Sand boards must be sent by our fulfillment agent as DHL bulky goods, regardless of other items ordered.
DHL bulky goods means that shipping takes longer than normal shipping, both due to the necessary manual entry at DHL and due to other distribution centers/shipping routes, and can therefore sometimes sometimes exceed the delivery time of 3-5 days.

If, in addition to sand boards, an order includes other items that are sent via normal parcel shipping, these are usually delivered significantly earlier than the sand boards.
