Protects synthetic winch ropes from abrasion and cuts when winching over/on sharp-edged surfaces.
The protective tubes that come with many plastic winch ropes either annoy me when winding them up or you can't get to them when you need them, so I usually remove them. So this removable and much more robust protective tube is perfect for me if you have to winch along a rock or something similar and can put the protection directly where you need it.
